Wine & Invisalign!

Hello....
Today at lunch out with the girls, I accidentally forgot to take out my trays while drinking my glass of wine!!! Oops!!!!!
Once I remembered, I took them out, gave them a good rinse, stored them in their container and continued my wine with my lunch.
I figure that it should be ok to have a white wine with my trays in as long as I will be taking them out soon anyway to eat!
The risk while drinking (anything other than water) while wearing your trays is an increased chance of cavities because the drink will be trapped in your trays and you don't have your saliva to naturally wash the drink/sugar etc away.
My question is: How could cavities occur in such a short time frame if you will be taking them out very soon anyway to eat then brush? So I think from now on I will allow myself a leisurely wine to drink with my trays in!!!
2 hours per day without wearing your trays is only just long enough to gobble down your breakfast, lunch & dinner but if you enjoy drinking socially (& taking your time and not sculling it all back!) it is just NOT long enough!!!
So, cheers to wine & invisalign!

Tray # 6 - First lot of IPR & 2 extra buttons!

Yesterday I had my dentist appointment to get my first lot of IPR (shaving between teeth to make room for them to move better) & 2 extra buttons (attachments) attached. I had been quite nervous leading up to this appointment but there was absolutely nothing to be nervous about! The IPR process was painless!!!! My dentist did it in between 2 separate teeth, my 2 front lower teeth and in between one of my bottom front side teeth. After that process was over I had to remind him that I am supposed to get 2 extra buttons attached cos he had totally forgot!!!!! (just as well one of us remembered!), so he put the extra buttons on my bottom teeth and I now have a total of 16!!!!
He also said that he was very pleased with how my teeth are moving and that everything is tracking along nicely! YAY! He said he could notice quite a difference and so did My Mum (who lives in Dunedin - a plane ride away) who saw me for the first time with braces! YAY! I will have to put a pic up and really compare! I also had a good look at the difference between tray # 1 and tray # 6 and there is a definate difference! Not only my 2 front teeth improving but my overbite is alot smaller!!!!!!! WOW!!!! amazing!!!!! I'm excited now!
This morning I took my trays out before breakfast and my top tray was impossible to get out on one side!!!?? Super tight!!! That hasn't happened in AGES! However my bottom tray was no problem getting out and I thought I would have trouble with the new buttons so thats a relief!
My dentist also noticed a slight discoloration on one of my bottom teeth but he thinks it could just be since that tooth was hiding behind and has now moved that the colour is different?? he says it shouldn't be a cavity in such a short time period!??? I need to book in to see the standard dentist to confirm & get a professional clean (it pays to get your teeth professionally cleaned throughout treatment). Anyway my dentist also said that I am a dream patient..... doing everything by the book so hopefully my teeth will be where they should be in exactly 1 years time!!!! Fingers crossed!
